Now in its 14th year, the AltaMed Food and Wine Festival in Los Angeles did not let us down. As always, the hot July temperature doesn’t stop the more than 100 local chefs, restauranteurs, and vintners from coming out and presenting some of their best wines and dishes.
It was a fabulous way to celebrate AltaMed’s 50 years of providing top-quality health services. We learned 96 cents of every dollar raised from this event goes directly to funding AltaMed’s patient services, such as urgent care, pediatric care, behavioral health, women’s health, dentistry, diabetes care, and more. This is one of the best food and wine festivals in all of Southern California. Right away you feel the energy of Downtown LA with the pulsating rhythm of the live music playing everything from cumbia to salsa while mingling and catching up with the city’s most prominent tastemakers and influencers all in one space.

AWARD-WINNING CHEFS
We applaud the chefs who stepped up their game for the festival. Each one impressed us with their attention to detail and genuine love of their craft. It’s not easy doing these tasting festival where hordes of hungry crowd goers are rushing the tables to grab a bite. We appreciate when the chef takes the time to describe the dish and the ingredients. Sometimes you’ll even hear a little about their inspiration. Now that’s a treat!
