When we started blogging about three years ago, I never expected the work to be a “social” force in my life. Let’s face it, blogging can get a little lonely. A big part of food blogging includes brainstorming, researching, cooking and testing recipes, not to mention photographing, editing, and writing. All of this pretty much on your own, except for one or two “tasters” who happen to drop by from time to time. Really, it’s our comadres and neighbors who miraculously smell the roasted chile peppers and garlic.
Yet, to my delight, as time passed we found a close-knit community in the food blogging world. We’ll meet up at tasting events, share each other’s recipes online, and even go camping! Through these new friends we also learn about new opportunities.
So when Food Bloggers of Los Angeles reached out to us to be part of a new digital cookbook, we couldn’t pass it up. We joined a group of top-notch food bloggers to create a macaroni n’ cheese recipe for a new e-cookbook titled: Mo’ Macaroni and Cheese: 30 Mouthwatering Recipes for America’s Favorite Comfort Food.
I am happy to announce that the book is now available for purchase on Amazon for $1.99. The best part is that ALL the proceeds benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, a nonprofit organization that feeds more than 1 million Los Angeles County residents annually.
The digital cookbook is divided into sections including classic recipes, international variations (that’s where you’ll find our recipe), lightened-up dishes, and mac and cheese with a twist. Recipes include Pumpkin Mac and Cheese with Sage Breadcrumbs, Cauliflower Mac and Cheese Muffins, and Jalapeño Popper Mac and Cheese.
