Long Beach Pride 2011

Whether you went for the dance offs, hook ups or the food trucks, LB Pride 2011  had something for everyone.  The two of us at LatinoFoodie were busy working “it” in the various food lines.  There was a lot of the standard festival food fair: roasted corn on the cob (yum elote), chicken & beef skewers, Polish links dripping with grilled onions and peppers. My mouth waters just thinking about it. We stumbled across the most amazing potatoes: Butterfly Chips, fully loaded.  The chips consisted of a mound of spiral cut spuds, loaded with cheese, sour cream, chives and bacon-all that was missing were pickled jalapenos on top. While the cheese was definitely the weakest link, they were still mouth-wateringly delicious.  Hopefully the festival organizers will start lining up some of the many gourmet food trucks that roam the streets of Long Beach today.  I’d love to get some Kogi between drag shows.  While the lines were long, I’d wait for some gourmet food while listening to Belinda Carlisle or Madonna impersonators.
